JACKIE MACKAY - President

Jackie MacKay is President of Orlando, Fla.-based JM Communications, Inc., a firm she started in January 2005 to provide brand management services and strategic public relations counseling.

Prior to forming her own company, Jackie served CKPR -- a top 20 public relations agency owned by Cramer-Krasselt -- as Vice President in the agency’s Orlando, Fla., office. During her nine years at CKPR, she counseled a diverse client base, including Papa John’s Pizza, Discount Auto Parts, Grendha Shoes, Winn-Dixie Stores, the Florida Department of Citrus, the Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Outer Banks, N.C., Visitors Bureau, the Lake County ( Fla.) Convention and Visitors Bureau and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts.

Considered one of the top public relations counselors in the hospitality industry, Jackie has served an impressive portfolio of hospitality clients. During her 26-year career, she has counseled organizations such as the Sint Maarten Tourist Bureau, Radisson Hotels International, Jamaica Grande Resort, Aruba Hilton & Casino, Nassau Beach Resort, Daytona Beach Marriott, Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, and Lodge & Beach Club at Ponte Vedra Beach.

Prior to joining CKPR, Jackie was Vice President in the Public Relations Division of Robinson, Yesawich & Pepperdine in Orlando, Fla. – now known as YPB&R -- one of the country’s largest agencies specializing in the travel industry. Jackie also spent five years as Public Relations Director at Barker Campbell & Farley in Virginia Beach, Va. where she handled clients in the travel, health care, real estate and banking industries.

Jackie’s public relations career began at the Delaware March of Dimes. She also served for two years as Vice President of Public Relations for the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

During her career Jackie has held leadership positions in the Public Relations Society of America, and currently is serving as Vice Chair of its national Travel and Tourism Section. She will chair the Section in 2007. She has served on several public relations task forces for the Host Committee for Pow Wow 2001, held in Orlando. She also has chaired public relations committees for the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau and for the Tampa/Hillsborough Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Jackie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Delaware in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in communications.
